Descriptions

You will discover a large part of Bukit Barisan Mountain range, including it’s highest peak the Mount Kerinci (3,805m), lies in the park, Kerinci Seblat consists of very mountainous terrain. In the mountains you will find hot springs and many rivers with rapids and scenic waterfalls. Especially around the crater-lakes of Gunung Tujuh (2604m) and Gunung Kerinci, the landscape is very beautifull.

East of Gunung Kerinci lies lake Bento, the highest freshwater swamp in Sumatra. Ladeh Panjang is probably the highest peat swamp woodland (altitude 2,000 m).

The relatively flat Kerinci valley cuts the park in two and forms the main entrance to the area. The valley is situated at an altitude of 800 m and has a population of about 300,000 people

The Kerinci Seblat National Park comprises an area of 1.5 million ha in four provinces: West Sumatra, Jambi, Bengkulu and South Sumatra. A large part of the biggest national park of Sumatra lies above 400 m and is relatively cool. The park probably contains the largest contiguous population of the Sumatran Rhino, estimated at between 250 and 500 individuals.

The trip package are fully organized combination of adventure, leisure, ecotourism, and safety. We organized the Kerinci Seblat trekking trip for individual and at small group maximum of 10 persons to maximize service and safety for all participants, also we provide you comfortable trekking gears for your convenience trekking trip.

Kerinci Seblat Pre Treks Preparation
We highly recommended you to have an travel insurance and exercise before the trip start, at least you do walk 5 kilometers in a day at home, or joint with the fitness center at your home.

Guide & Porters
We hire only professional mountain guide and porters from the nearest villages in the area of Mount Kerinci National Park who has pass the guiding and handling test and hold a valid guide license. Adventure Lombok Tour Company is keen to develop the Eco Tourism Concept, giving as much as benefit to the local community to improve their standard of living.

About the Trek
You will encounter steep ascents and descents on a fairly good system of tracks whilst on the trek.. A good level of fitness is required. Please contact us if you would like some suggestions in relation to pre trip training or if you are concerned about your fitness level.

All meals will be prepared by your guide and porters on open fires and fuel stoves. Your porters will exhibit super human strength in getting all your camping gear up the mountain and is a constant source of amazement to trekkers! Expect traditional Indonesian style rice based meals. The meals are excellent relative to what you might expect on a typical western style commercial trek. The staff take great pride in their cooking skills and presentation of your meal. Any offers to help are welcome but not expected.

All your camping gear is supplied but if you want to take your own light weight sleeping bag or sleeping mat that’s fine. This can be arranged at your pre trip briefing. Most trekkers will carry a small pack or day pack with personal items such as clothes, toiletries and photography gear. Keep the gear to a minimum and don’t take anything up the mountain that you don’t have to!

Trip Itinerary

DAY 01: AIRPORT / PADANG – BUKITTINGGI
Upon arrival at Minangkabau International Airport Padang, pick up upon arrival by our guide and then drive to Bukittinggi by passing Anay Valley, on the way stop at Kiambang and Pandai Sikat Village to see traditional hand carving and weaving, arrival at Bukittinggi check in to Hotel.

DAY 02: BUKITTINGGI – KERSIK TUO ( B )
After breakfast drive to Kersik Tuo via Muara labuh, on the way stop at Lake Diatas and Lake Dibawah and passing several MinangKabau Village. Visiting Telun Berasap Waterfall and passing tea plantation at Kayu Aro and arrival at Sei Penuh , the area of Kerinci Seblat National Park check in to Guest House.

DAY 03: CLIMBING UP MOUNT KERINCI. ( TENT / SHELTER ) B.L.D
After breakfast, walk about three hours to Kerinci Seblat enter gate and then hiking to Mount Kerinci, arriving at the afternoon camp out at shelter 3. (About 3.200 M above sea level), dinner will be prepared by our tour Guide.

DAY 04: SUMMIT OF MOUNT KERINCI – KERSIK TUO ( B,L )
After Breakfast, Continue climbing to the summit of Mount Kerinci, after taking picture and taking a rest, walking down Mount Kerinci to Kersik Tuo and afternoon arrival at Kersik Tuo check in to guest house.

DAY 05: KERSIK TUO – BANGKO ( B )
After breakfast visiting Semurup Hot Spring, Old Historical Mosque with its Giant Drum and Lake Kerinci, then drive to Bangko on the way passing rain tropical forest with its flora and fauna. Stop will be made at several interesting places and arrival at Bangko check in to hotel.

DAY 06: EXPLORE PRIMITIVE KUBU TRIBE. ( B )
After breakfast drive around 2 hours to the village near the jungle then walking to the jungle to explore where the Nomadic Kubu people live and witness their daily activity and its traditional and culture, picnic lunch box provide and afternoon return back to hotel.

DAY 07: BANGKO – BUKITTINGGI ( B )
After breakfast drive to Bukittinggi via Trans Sumatra highway ant with stop at Muara Bungo, Singkarak Lake and passing several interesting places, arrival at Bukittinggi the charming town of Minangkabau directly check in to hotel.

DAY 08: BUKITTINGGI – PADANG /AIRPORT. B
After breakfast drive to Padang via Anay valley with stop at Anay Waterfall and arrival at Padang transfer to airport for your next destination.
